Monday hero: Brian Wildsmith

I had another Monday hero planned for today, but this weekend I read that Brian Wildsmith has died on August 31.

Wildsmith (1930-2016) was a Brittish painter and illustrator. He has made beautiful books, that you can look at for hours.

His painting technique and his choise of colors lift his work above 'mere' illustration. 

His animal portraits are especially beautiful.

Brian Wildsmith lived in France since the 70s.
