Last monday I didn't write a 'Monday hero'.
I was in Bologna at the big children's books fair, where there was so much to see, I couldn't choose.
But in the central hall of the fair they had set up an exhibition of the work of Rotraut Susanne Berner (1948).
What a joy! Lovely bright colors, funny characters, it cheered me up and made me want to get back to work myself.
I now see the work also reminds me a bit of another hero of mine, the lesser known German illustrator Tilman Michalski, whom I also made monday hero some time ago.
