The Dutch painter Kees Bol (1916-2009) was the father of one of my teachers at artschool, Peter Bol, who is also a painter.
Kees Bol also taught friend and fellow artschool student Frank Dekkers, who worked with him for some time after leaving artschool.
Bol's work consists of robustly painted landscapes, portraits and still life paintings.
He only started as a painter in 1944, after trying his hand at floristry, cycling(!) and working at Philips.
